Diane and Michael

On Today's Real wedding I bring you Diane and Michael's wedding back in April this year. I met Diane at a Wedding Fayre at Cusworth Hall and she really liked my style of flowers so Diane booked an appointment with me.

Diane wanted dusky pinks so I came up with this combination of Sweet Avalanche roses, Cool Water Roses and a touch of Amnesia Roses with Astrantia, Ranunculus, Veronica, Jasmine trails and Umbrella fern.

The Bridesmaid's bouquets was a smaller version to Diane's but not as trailing just loved the colour of the dresses a perfect combination against the shades of pinks.

Diane and Michael's chosen Venue was at Cusworth Hall in Doncaster a Georgian Hall with stunning rooms and gardens where you can make your wedding your own.
I have done many photo shoots here and it is a very hidden jewel here in South Yorkshire highly recommended for intimate weddings.

Diane and Michael also choose Pastures Lodge for their wedding breakfast so I made these beautiful Tall Vase Arrangements of all the flowers I used in Diane's bouquet with some spirea flowers.

The big thing I'm introducing to help brides bring the cost down to their wedding is to use Jam jars to place their bridal flowers and bridesmaids onto the top table to add impact and at least the flowers will have a little drink.

I would also like to thank Image I Nation for the fabulous images they really are stunning.

Charlotte and Karl

Today's real wedding is a real treat! Charlotte and Karl's was stunning and Romantic.
They both had a amazing day firstly getting married at St Peters Church in Edensor near Chatsworth House followed by Hassop Hall.

Doesn't Charlotte look amazing in this Jenny Packham Dress Aspen. Charlotte knew the style of flowers she wanted. A very wild informal Hand tied bouquet with dusky pinks.

So the flowers I decided to use was David Austin Roses Patience, Memory Lane roses, Amnesia Roses, Peonies, Thespli Bell, Clematis and Jasmine Trials with fern edge.

If only there was a scent button for you as these truly did smell amazing.

I always make the grooms buttonhole to match the bridal bouquet as you can see Karl's complimented perfectly with a David Austin Rose I also placed a little Hellebore's for texture.

These fabulous images are courtesy of these two lovely ladies Wiesia at http://www.littlemissboyco.co.uk and Laura from http://lauraeddollsphotography.4ormat.com/home

For the bridesmaids I did smaller versions to Charlotte's not as wild with a touch of trails.
Just love the furry shoulder capes.

Hassop Hall is a truly grand venue the Ballroom is amazing and Charlotte wanted Candelabras for the tables which she supplied from a local supplier. The top table was made with very lush wild arrangements that joined together to go in between Jam Jars so she could place the bridal bouquets to make an even more elaborate display.

All the flowers was to to theme but I included the hellebore's for texture and lots of Ivy and Jasmine trails.

And finally the cake as Charlotte came to meet me at one the Wedding Fayre's I was attending to collect a sample rose I was using so the cake lady could copy for the design of the cake. Doesn't it look amazing!

Thank You Charlotte and Karl for being so fantastic.

Love and Letters

Today I get to share this fabulous shoot

I was so thrilled to be asked be part of this shoot on a theme of literature based in the Library of Cusworth Hall in South Yorkshire.

As a florist who occasionally makes funeral pieces of letters was wondering wouldn’t it be lovely to use this method for weddings. As a lot of what has been featured in various weddings today are the light up letters saying Love or Mr & Mrs etc and I thought how about using letters made from oasis and creating a different style using textures and beautiful unusual choice of flowers.

For the LOVE letters the flowers I chose was Miss Piggy Roses, Splash sensation roses, green Cymbidium Orchids, Celosia and Abifloral textured with moss and Galax leaves. Brides and grooms could use this idea as a setting in front of their registrar or venue top table.

The gorgeous grouped bouquet of Miss Piggy Roses, Celosia and Abifloral was an idea I wanted to show future brides that rather than the pretty country style look which is everywhere at the moment they could go bold and bright which is perfect for those who are choosing bridesmaids in teal coloured dresses.

Also for the cascading bouquet, I’ve been dying to make one of these after seeing so many beautiful images recently. So my version was used with Eucharis flowers which is a flower not often used in weddings with Lysmachia and asparagus fern which went perfect with the dresses supplied by KMR Bespoke bridal.

And finally for the literature theme I came up with the idea of a prayer book spray which was in fashion 20 years ago,  brides would hold a bible in their hand and flowers was designed on top of the book. So I came up with a modern up to date version using ribbon to tie on instead of wire the flowers I used was the Spray roses Splash sensation, galax leaves and theslpi bell touched with asparagus fern.

Nikki and Dave - The tale of the two Naomi roses

I step into the Spring Wedding season with Nikki and Dave's Wedding at Cubley Hall a even though the weather wasn't looking promising it was still a stunning day.

Nikki knew exactly what she wanted which was Red roses so I recommended Red Naomi roses which smell amazing and is the best quality rose.

Nikki said she didn't want anything formal like just a domed bouquet so I suggested some foliage that was trailing and grasses. It was still an Hand tied bouquet but I gave it the Paeony touch of jasmine trails, lily grass and tree ivy with gorgeous black Berry's to give a different texture and look of the bouquet.

It was also finished with Black satin ribbon and thin red ribbon to give a corset like effect as this was the style of the back her dress.

The bridesmaids was different too with 2 of them being in red and the other in black. Nikki wanted the bridesmaids in red to have White Naomi roses with black ribbon and then red ribbon finish like the brides bouquet and then the bridesmaid in black to have a smaller version to brides bouquet.

The ladies corsages of white freesia and brides mum to have small spray roses.

The grooms buttonhole to theme with the brides bouquet of a red Naomi rose, jasmine and tree ivy.

The venue was at Cubley Hall in Penistone set in their spacious gardens with views over the open countryside, the Victorian Pavilion is a beautiful location for Summer weddings. The old stone floors, high ceilings and massive oak beams create a warm welcoming atmosphere in The Barn which sets the scene for the perfect wedding reception.

These photo's was kindly received by Townend Photography a local photographer based in Barnsley South Yorkshire who has a very relaxed and calming attitude towards his photography. Mark mentioned he was very excited to see the flowers himself as Nikki had mentioned them in their meetings.

Between these two images are the Naomi roses above is Red Naomi and below is White Naomi.

Ideas for a Woodland Wedding

Good morning and I hope you all had a lovely Easter break?

I start this morning with this lovely little feature for those of you who are looking at ideas of getting married in the woods or just like the rustic charm of woodland flowers and foliages.

This gorgeous quirky idea of wearing a flower necklace of Rosa Ranuncula, Kangaroo Paw and Lysmachia finished with blackberries and tree Ivy foliage on a contorted willow frame.
The matching Floral Crown was made with a real feel of a woodland crown with contorted willow.

This other theme was a more subtle colour of Vendella roses, Alstromeria, Tree Ivy with berries and Blackberries, also with a matching bouquet for a wild and natural style.
