Cool Britanna

To bring some fun into the Royal Wedding shoot Helen (Phweddings) and Emma (WeddingDaze) came up with idea of the Cool Britanna look.
A theme of 1950's and vintage with a twist of Britanna Nostagia.

The dress chosen by Emma was Marilyn By Charlotte Balbier 1950's style supplied by Choola with a red petti coat by Honeypie boutique.  And finished with the Red shoes by Bespoke Big Day.

The Bouquet I designed was a 1950's style with Pearls Avalanche Roses, White Freesia and of course Lily of the Valley.

The food and nibble was supplied by Coco Catering. Cake, cupcakes by HunkyDory Cakes

A nice day for a Royal Wedding

With the forth coming Royal Wedding I was asked to supply the flowers for the Photo Shoot with PhWeddings and WeddingDaze at Cusworth Hall in Doncaster.

PH Weddings and Wedding Daze created William and Kate’s wedding day with their very unique twist to it. Having look alikes of Kate and William This is the first look the next blog will be 'Cool Britania'

My prediction of Kate's bouquet would be a traditional Shower Bouquet of Avalanche Roses, Lily of the Valley and with a twist Paper White Narcissus representing Wales, and a touch of Blue Veronica to match Diana's engagement ring.

Throughout history, royal brides appear to have a duty to follow tradition, however it is clear that each had their own preferences. The Queen chose mainly whole sprays of orchids signifying her role as leader of the Commonwealth, while Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, included white heather symbolising her native Scotland. It is unlikely that Kate will choose anything too far from the royal norm. As a contemporary princess she would suit a spring themed, hand-tied bouquet of white ranunculus and lily of the valley but will she and her florist be brave enough to make such a floral statement on the day?

Apparently royal brides are ahead of the times, ever since Queen Victoria they have been trailing style bouquets with combinations of flowers often representing key references in their lives.
An alternative twist would to be to add a touch of sapphire blue colour to match her stunning engagement ring in the form of muscari, hyacinths or delphiniums. This would of course draw attention to the late Princess Diana’s ring and evoke her memory.

Cusworth Hall

George Platt and James Paine built Cusworth Hall in the mid 18th Century using the leading craftsmen and artists in the country to realize their designs. It is the perfect Venue with it's Chapel, New Dinning Room and Library for a intimate wedding.

To celebrate the launch of the new wedding ceremony service at Cusworth Hall, the Hall is offering the chance for one lucky couple to receive a free wedding service. Visit the following page for details Win A Wedding
